GN 7336 Plastic Hollow Knurled Knobs

New to our immense selection of clamping knobs is our series GN 7336 Plastic Hollow Knurled Knobs, with steel tapped inserts or threaded studs, in metric sizes. Also available is the new series GN 7336-NI, with inserts or studs of stainless steel.

These RoHS compliant knurled knobs are made of glass fiber reinforced plastic with a black matte finish. Tapped inserts and threaded studs are made of made of zinc plated, blue passivated steel, or of stainless steel. The tapped inserts are standard hexagonal nuts, which are press-fitted in by machine. The threaded studs are press-fitted in by machine. Cover caps are glass fiber reinforced plastic with a light gray matte finish. Other cap colors as well as printed lettering on caps are available upon request.

GN 7336 knurled knobs feature an attractive and ergonomic design. They also offer the advantage of a closed shape (no recesses on the underside) suitable for applications with hygienic requirements.

GN 304.1 Tapped Type Straight Zinc Die-Cast Adjustable Levers with Push Button

Greetings! Our featured product today is our new GN 304.1 Tapped Type, Straight Zinc Die-Cast Adjustable Lever with Push Button, with Stainless Steel Components. Available in both inch and metric sizes, these RoHS-compliant hand levers have a straight lever parallel to the clamping surface. For some applications this presents an advantage due to limits of space or for visual reasons.

The insert is connected to the lever via serrations which can be easily be disengaged. Pulling the lever upward disengages the serrations, allowing it to be swiveled to the ideal clamping position. When the lever is released, the serrations automatically re-engage. The releasing button is a design element and allows for effortless release action. However, this design is limited to applications that do not require the lever to be disassembled.

The handle is zinc die-cast, and the push button is nylon plastic. The insert, spring, and screw for push button are stainless steel. Levers are available in matte black pebble finish, orange or silver smooth finish, or red textured finish. Buttons may be black, orange, or gray smooth finish. Additional modifications including plain bores, tapped threads and special stud lengths are available upon request.

GN 475 Adjustable Two-Way Connector Mini-Clamps

Our featured components today are our series GN 475 Adjustable Two-Way Connector Mini-Clamps in metric sizes. Mini-clamps are typically used to build support structures for mounting sensors, Plexiglas guards, or other elements.

The clamping bores of these RoHS compliant mini-clamps are designed for GN 480.1 tubings. The two segments of the mounting can be twisted to accommodate the juncture of tubing at different angles. In the standard version, the clamping force of the clamp onto the tube is achieved via the socket cap screws.

Clamp mounting is of aluminum and offered in either matte version (ground matte finish) or anodized version (black anodized finish). Cap screws are DIN 912, in stainless steel, while the grub screw is DIN 915, also stainless steel. Adjustable lever kits are available to replace the cap screws.

J.W. Winco Parts for...Your Harmonica?

We always love learning about unique applications for the standard machine components we sell, and this one is definitely interesting. German company Sonnenschein SLK makes a professional-quality neckholder for harmonicas (aka harps) for hands-free playing. Our GN 927 Clamping Levers with Eccentrical Cam are a key component in these holders, which we are happy to now have available in inch as well as metric sizes.

The easy clamping and releasing feature of these clamping levers is what makes them perfect for this application. A flick of the fingers allows the user to unclamp the brackets and adjust the harmonica's position to the perfect level. In contrast to a clamping operation utilizing threads, these levers permit torque-free clamping. The lever has been designed to insure that its movement cannot exceed the maximum clamping position.

GN 927 levers are RoHS compliant, with zinc die cast handles and a matte black plastic coated, abrasion-proof epoxy resin finish. Components are zinc plated, blue passivated steel. They are available with two types of technopolymer contact plates: a fixed version, or an adjustable contact plate, with which the distance between the eccentrical cam and the contact surface is adjustable by means of a fine threaded knurled nut.

GN 608.5 Stainless Steel Indexing Plungers with Plate Mount

Today we're telling you about our new series GN 608.5 Stainless Steel Indexing Plungers with Plate Mount, non lock-out type, available in metric sizes. This type of indexing plunger is used in applications which require surface mounting. We offer types with tapped hole or with threaded stud.

This series has been expanded with additional plunger pin lengths to widen the application opportunities. Please note that for these longer pins lengths (14 and 18 mm), the pin does not fully retract. Plunger pin is made of stainless steel, chemically nickel-plated. Mounting plate is stainless steel. Knob is fabricated from matte black glass fiber reinforced nylon plastic, not removable. These plungers are RoHS compliant.

GN 353 Conical Vibration Mounts

Today we're introducing you to our new series GN 353 Conical Vibration/Shock Absorption Mounts in metric sizes. Also known as shock absorbing mounts, vibration mounts, anti-vibration mounts, vibration bobbins or rubber bumpers, these RoHS compliant components are frequently used as end-stop bumpers, e.g., for conveyor trolleys.

Vibration absorption mounts absorb most of the accumulated kinetic energy on impact. They act as dampers and prevent damaging shock and rebound. They also act as sound dampers, and can be used as leveling feet. The parabolic shape generates progressive resilience characteristics: impact and shock effects are absorbed more gently.

Types with tapped hole or with threaded stud are offered. The mount body is of natural rubber (NR), vulcanized, 55 durometer (shore hardness +/-5°). Cover plate, and tapped inserts or threaded studs are molded-in zinc plated, blue passivated steel. Inch size tapped and stud versions are available upon request.

GN 480.1 Solid Round Shafting and Hollow Round and Square Tubing

Today we're telling you about our new GN 480.1 Solid Round Shafting and Hollow Round and Square Tubing, available in metric sizes. Shafting and tubing is used with mini-clamps and related components to build support structures for mounting sensors, plexiglass guards, or other elements.

Our solid round shafting is offered in stainless steel, in 8 and 10 mm diameters. Round tubing is fabricated of stainless steel, in diameters of 12, 16, or 20 mm. Square tubing is made of aluminum, in 10, 12, or 16 mm square dimensions. All are offered in lengths from 100 to 300 mm, and with or without scale. The optional scales are precision laser engraved, with millimeter graduations. Other scales are available upon request.

GN 722.2 Square Spring Latches with Flange

Today we're introducing you to our GN 722.2 Square Spring Latches with Flange for Surface Mounting.

These spring latches are designed for use in applications where less precise positioning/locking is required. The dimensional tolerances are therefore chosen for cost-effective production, while insuring that functional safety is guaranteed when exposed to dirty or dusty environments. They provide high dynamic and static strength and can be loaded from any direction with approved safety (safety factor 4).

This type of spring latch is used when the indexing pin needs to be retracted. The indexing pin retracts by turning the latch up the cam slope by 180°. A lock notch will hold the latch in both positions. The flange has two holes for mounting that can accommodate metric DIN 933/931 hex cap screws or DIN 912 socket cap screws. Equivalent inch size screws may potentially also be used for mounting the latch.

The guide body is steel, precision cast, with either a zinc plated finish or black textured finish. The precision cast latch and the plunger pin are zinc plated, blue passivated steel. The spring latches are available in versions with the latch position either right-angled or parallel to the mounting holes, and are RoHS compliant.

GN 343.2 Stud Type Steel Base Leveling Mounts

Today's featured new product is our GN 343.2 Stud Type Steel Base Leveling Mounts. They are available with or without plastic or rubber cap, in metric sizes.

These RoHS compliant leveling feet have a base and threaded stud of zinc plated, blue passivated steel. The three versions are no cap (pad), with cap of white DELRIN® technopolymer plastic (natural color), or with cap of black thermoplastic TPE rubber, 73 Shore hardness. The ISO 4032 metric hex nut is zinc plated, blue passivated steel.

Base diameters are offered from 25 to 60 mm, with studs in a variety of lengths from 40 to 158 mm, and threads ranging from M8 x 1.25 to M24 x 3.0.

Price Reductions on Thumb Screws, Knurled Nuts and Spring Plungers!

J.W. Winco, Inc. is pleased to announce new lower prices on a number of our quality machine components!

New reduced prices are in place for our metric sized DIN 464 Steel Knurled Thumb Screws and DIN 464-NI Stainless Steel Knurled Thumb Screws. The steel version has a black oxide finish, while the stainless version has a sandblasted satin finish.

Both types are manufactured from solid bar stock, and are RoHS compliant. They are offered in a variety of diameters, stud lengths, and thread size options.

We have also reduced prices are on our DIN 466 Steel Knurled Nuts and DIN 466-NI Stainless Steel Knurled Nuts. Again, the steel version has a black oxide finish, while the stainless version has a sandblasted satin finish.

Both types of knurled nuts are manufactured from solid bar stock, and are RoHS compliant. They feature a tapped through hole and are offered in a variety of diameters and thread size options.

We're also offering lower prices on our GN 6303.1 Quick Release Knurled Nuts. These RoHS compliant, metric-sized nuts are used in applications where the nut has to be completely removed after the releasing operation and refitted very rapidly for re-clamping.

The nut is tilted over the threaded spindle. When in position, the nut is brought into a straight position for meshing of the two threads on nut and spindle. The nut will then have to be turned only by a fraction of a rotation to achieve clamping. Quick release nuts are made of steel with a black oxide finish, tapped through. Five different diameters/thread sizes are offered.

Lastly, we're happy to announce reduced prices as well on our inch size SPRP Stubby Hand Retractable Spring Plungers. These plungers are made of steel with a zinc-plated finish and feature a short body design ideal for applications with limited space.

GN 303.1 Tapped Type Zinc Die-Cast Adjustable Levers with Push Button

Today we're featuring our new GN 303.1 Zinc Die-Cast Adjustable Levers with Push Button, Tapped Type, with Stainless Steel Components, available in inch and metric sizes.

These adjustable levers have proven to be ideal wherever parts have to be clamped in a confined space or in a particular lever position. The insert is connected to the lever via serrations which can be easily be disengaged. Pulling the lever upwards, disengages the serrations, allowing it to be swiveled to the ideal clamping position. When the lever is released, the serrations automatically re-engage. The releasing button is an ergonomic design element and allows for effortless release action. However, this design is limited to applications that do not require the lever to be disassembled.

The handle is zinc die-cast, and the push button is nylon plastic. The insert and spring, as well as the screw for the push button, are stainless steel, European Standard No. 1.4305 (American Standard Series 303). The handle is available in matte black pebble finish electrostatically applied powder coat, smooth finishes in orange, gray, silver, or red textured finish, chrome plated or uncoated. The button is available in black, orange or gray; upon request, any color button can be combined with any color lever.

Our GN 421-NI Knobs and the BMW Motorcycle Solution

Those crafty customers of ours...they're forever developing nifty solutions for their applications using J.W. Winco components.

This week we discovered one on a forum for owners of BMW K1600 motorcycles. It seems that sometimes it's desirable to remove the rear seat on these bikes, but they are designed in a way that requires employing a screwdriver...a technique the poster on the forum termed a "PITA," or pain in the you-know-where.

He found that a pair of our GN 421-NI Hollow Knurled Knobs could be swapped in (part ID 5N25P02), resulting in a quick and easy way to take the seat on and off. These metric-sized knobs are indeed an ideal solution for this application. The knurling on the nylon plastic knob provides for a good grip even when wet. And the stainless steel stud prevents corrosion from salt and any other chemicals a rider encounters on the road.

One more ideal aspect of these knobs: while they are excellent quality, they're also economically priced.

It seems a lot of forum readers agree with the poster that our GN 421-NI's are the perfect solution, because they've been buying them ever since the post appeared! Seems to us at J.W. Winco that the engineers at BMW ought to take note and spec this great component into future designs....

Steel Locking Plungers with Push-Push Locking Mechanism

Today we're showing off our new GN 514 Steel Locking Plungers with Push-Push Locking Mechanism, in metric sizes.

The indexing pin in this locking plunger is moved by means of a spring-operated cardioid curve. By simply pressing the operating button, this cardioid mechanism causes the indexing pin to extend and retract (push-push locking mechanism). This function is similar to that used in a ball point pen. Please note that the indexing pin cannot absorb any axial foces and that it retracts virtually by spring action; the indexing pin must therefore remain free and easy to move.

The body of these RoHS compliant locking plungers is made of nitrided steel with a blackened finish. The knob is matte black technopolymer plastic (Polyamide PA), and the optional metric lock nut, ISO 8675, is steel with a blackened finish. Installation can be done with spacer bushings (purchased separately) instead of the lock nut.

AN 5672 Clamping Heads for Clamping Knobs or Screws

Today we're introducing our series AN 5672 Clamping Heads for Clamping Knobs or Screws, in metric and inch sizes.

The RoHS compliant clamping heads are available in nickel-plated brass or stainless steel, European Standard No. 1.4301 (American Standard Series 304). The fasteners are stainless steel, European Standard No. 1.4301 (American Standard Series 304).

These clamping heads are usually used in conveyor systems to affix adjusting rods. They are typically mounted to a side bracket, but can be assembled where needed on the conveyor. An accompanying star knob AN 5662 is also available from J.W. Winco, as are other variations of clamping heads.

GN 146.3 Aluminum Flanged Connector Clamps

Here for your consideration is our new series GN 146.3 Aluminum Flanged Connector Clamps, Round Bore Type, available in metric sizes. These RoHS compliant connector clamps are available in black powder coated, textured finish, or tumbled with a matte shot-blasted finish. Cap screws are DIN 912, steel, zinc plated, and nylon insert hex nuts are DIN 985, steel, zinc plated.

The clamping bores of GN 146.3 flanged connector clamps are machined and designed for construction tubings GN 990 or DIN 2391, DIN 2395 and DIN 2462 respectively. In the standard version, the clamping force of the clamp onto the tube is achieved via the socket cap screws and hex nuts with nylon insert.

GN 587 Safety Swivel Load Rings

Today we're featuring our GN 587 Weldable Safety Swivel Load Rings in metric sizes.  These load rings are designed for quick mounting and are RoHS compliant. They provide high dynamic and static strength and can be loaded from any direction with approved safety (safety factor 4).

The load ring is forged steel, European Standard No. 1.6541, high-tensile tempered, with bright pink powder coated finish. The weld-on block is steel S355 J2 + N (ST52-3N), forged, natural finish. The retaining spring is stainless steel tape.

Load ring and weldable block are 100% electro magnetic tensile tested to EN 1677. Stainless steel tape holds the ring in any position and dampens any noise caused by vibrations. All parts are permanently connected. The two support lugs improve the bearing load of the hooks and enhance the support effect of the ring, especially if the ring is side loaded or the lifting point is welded on an uneven work piece. GN 587 load rings comply with Mechanical Engineering Directive 98 / 37 / CE and are BG tested.

GN 608.6 Metric Size Indexing Plungers with Rest Position

Today's introduction to new components from J.W. Winco, Inc. is our series GN 608.6 Metric Size Indexing Plungers with Rest Position, Plate Mount, Lock-out Type.

These RoHS compliant indexing plungers are used in applications which require surface mounting, and where the plunger needs to stay in its retracted position. To achieve this, the knob is rotated 90° after being retracted. The head of the plunger body is provided with a suitable notch in opposite positions so as to prevent the plunger from accidentally slipping back into its forward position.

The plunger pins are made of chemically nickel-plated stainless steel, and the mounting plate is also of stainless steel. The knob is matte black glass fiber reinforced nylon plastic, not removable.

GN 351 Vibration Isolation Mounts

Today we're taking a look at our new series GN 351 Vibration Isolation Mounts, Cylindrical Type available in metric sizes.

The RoHS compliant components, also known as vibration mounts, anti-vibration mounts, vibration bobbins or rubber bumpers, are suitable for the elastic mounting of machine units such as motors, compressors and pumps. They are simple and economical construction elements. Their resilience and their broad range of different sizes and dimensions allow these mounts to be used in many applications that require vibration isolation.

These mounts are available in three types: with two tapped holes, with one tapped hole and one threaded stud, or with two threaded studs.

The mount body is made of natural rubber (NR), vulcanized, 55 durometer with a shore hardness of +/-5°). The cover plate is made of steel, zinc plated, blue passivated, molded in, as are the tapped inserts or threaded studs. Inch size tapped and stud versions available upon request. Specials, with certain minimum quantities, are also available. 40 and 70 druometer natural rubber material available upon request.

GN 440 Steel Leveling Feet

Today we'd like to introduce you to our new series GN 440 Steel Leveling Feet in inch and metric sizes.

These RoHS compliant leveling feet are simple and economically priced. They have a base made of steel with a zinc-plated, blue passivated finish (stainless steel for type with rubber pad). The threaded stud is also zinc-plated, blue passivated steel, with a steel hex nut as a standard part of the assembly. A stainless steel assembly screw is mounted through the bottom of the base into the stud with loctite to secure it in place.

The feet may be ordered in three different versions: without pad; with a base cap of black, 73 shore elastomer (TPE) plastic; or with a non-skid pad of black Nitrile Butadiene rubber, 70±5 shore hardness. The static load rating of these feet is limited due to the acceptable load rating of the stud (tensile strength 500/mm2).

An all-stainless steel version, series GN 440.5, has also been newly introduced to the product line.

Nylon Plastic Adjustable Levers with Push Button

Today we're introducing you to our series WN 303 Nylon Plastic Adjustable Levers with Push Button. These levers have steel components, come in tapped and blind bore types, and are available in inch and metric sizes. The WN 303 series is just one of a variety of push button adjustable levers that we will be adding to our product line in the coming weeks.


Patented and made in the USA, these components are the result of modern industrial design. The handle is glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic with molded-in metal insert, and is available in black, orange or gray. The insert and spring are steel with a black oxide finish. The push button, also available in black, orange or gray, is nylon plastic with a screw made of stainless steel.

These RoHS compliant levers are ideal for use where parts have to be clamped in a confined space or in a particular lever position. AN 7870.1 Stainless Steel Square Flange Bearings

In honor of Valentine's Day, we're looking at our new AN 7870.1 Stainless Steel Square Flange Bearings, another series of quality parts in our new complete line of conveyor components.  Flange bearings are typically used to support a rotating shaft or tube as part of a conveyor construction.

The metric-sized, RoHS compliant bearings have a flanged housing and double sealed through-hole ball bearing made of stainless steel.  We offer a variety of other types of flange and pillow block bearings, which you can see in Section 17 of our online catalog.

AN 350 Tube Expander Fittings

Today we're sharing with you our series AN 350 Tube Expander Fittings, another product in our new complete line of conveyor components.

These metric-sized, RoHS compliant fittings are made of black reinforced polyamide plastic, with nickel-plated brass bushings. They are designed for 25 mm OD x 1.5 mm wall thickness square tubing, and are available with M8 x 1.25 or M10 x 2.5 threads.

GN 298 Housings for Angular or T-Gears

We continue exploring with you the many new items in our complete line of tube connection and conveyor components.  Today we're looking at series GN 298 Housings for Angular or T-Gears.
The metric-sized, RoHS compliant housings are made of gravity die-cast aluminum, plastic coated, with a black textured finish, and stainless steel securing screws.

The housings are used in conjunction with GN 297 bevel-gear wheels and linear actuators / transfer units. The angular / T-gears are designed to deflect the rotary movements of a linear actuator or transfer unit by 90°.
