DIN 6320 Jig Feet

To our ever-burgeoning line of standard components for industry, we have recently added series DIN 6320 Jig Feet, in metric sizes.

These RoHS compliant feet are normally used in jig construction, if neither a self-aligning support nor an axial adjustment is required. They are made of 1.0718 steel rather than quenched and tempered steel as specified in the official DIN 6320 standard sheet. The feet range in height from 10 to 50 mm, and thread sizes from M6 to M12.

WN 302 and 304 Straight Plastic Adjustable Levers

J.W. Winco recently introduced our new Straight Nylon Plastic Adjustable Levers in eight types, in inch and metric sizes. They include WN 302 tapped, blind bore and stud versions with steel components, and WN 302.1 tapped, blind bore and stud versions in with stainless steel components, as well as push button types WN 304 in tapped, blind bore and stud types (steel components), and WN 304.1 in tapped, blind bore and stud variations (stainless steel components).

These RoHS complaint components have a straight lever parallel to the clamping surface. For some applications this presents an advantage due to limits of space or for visual reasons. Handles, offered in black or orange, are glass fiber reinforced nylon thermoplastic with molded-in metal inlay. The insert is connected to the lever via serrations which can be easily be disengaged. Pulling the lever upwards disengages the serrations, allowing it to be swiveled to the ideal clamping position. When releasing the lever, the spring allows the serrations to automatically re-engage. On the push button versions, the releasing button is a design element and allows for effortless release action. The nylon plastic push buttons are also available in black or orange.

GN 852.1 Latch-Type Toggle Clamps with Locking Mechanism

The latest new product we'd like to share with you is our GN 852.1 Latch-Type Toggle Clamps with Locking Mechanism, available in metric sizes.

These RoHS compliant Latch Clamps are used when very high retaining forces are required. They also feature a locking mechanism which prevents the inadvertent or vibration-induced opening of the clamp. Another benefit of this clamp is the ability to operate it with one hand.

The base, clamping lever and catch are forged, chemically blackened steel. Bearing pins are hardened and ground steel. All moving parts are lubricated with special grease. The handle sleeve is oil-resistant red solid molded plastic. Holding force (Fh) of this clamp is 15,000 newtons [N].

GN 706.3 Threaded Set Collars

We're happy to introduce another new product in our line, GN 706.3 Threaded Set Collars, in metric sizes.

These threaded set collars are available in black steam oxidized sintered steel (Distaloy AB) or sintered stainless steel, European Standard No. 1.4404 (American Standard Series 316L). The steel version includes a DIN 912 socket cap screw, European 8.8 grade steel, with blackened finish. The stainless steel version has a socket cap screw of stainless steel, European Standard 1.4301 (American Standard Series 304). Both versions are RoHS compliant

GN 706.3 threaded set collars can be used in connection with bolt thread tolerance 6g. After clamping, the thread of the semi-split set collar may no longer be tolerance-stable (6H). Size range includes outer diameters from 20 to 55 mm and threads from M8 x 1.25 to M30 x 1.5.

GN 113.7 Stainless Steel Ball Lock Pins with Plastic T-Handle

Recently added to our product line is series GN 113.7 Ball Lock Pins with Plastic T-Handle, in metric sizes.

These ball lock pins are used for rapid connecting and securing of components or work pieces. A typical application is locating pins which have to be regularly moved in and out of position. By depressing the spring-loaded push button, the two balls are freed, and by releasing the push button the balls are locked.

These RoHS-compliant ball lock pins have a T-handle of black plastic (Polyamide PA). The pin is stainless steel, European Standard No. 1.4305 (American Standard No. 303). Balls are stainless steel, European Standard No. 1.3541, and spring is stainless steel, European Standard No. 1.4565. A broad range of handle sizes and pin lengths are offered.

GN 516 Rotary Clamping Latches

J.W. Winco, Inc. now offers GN 516 Rotary Clamping Latches in metric sizes.

These RoHS compliant components have a closing mechanism which transfers the rotary movement of the operating element (key) into a 90° turn and then into a 6 mm linear stroke. This mechanism is designed for common applications such as making a tight and vibration-proof interlock in the end position (retaining position) in connection with an elastic element (door/casing seal).

The lock housing is zinc die-cast, and the locating ring is zinc die-cast and plastic coated with a black textured finish. The latch is zinc plated, blue passivated steel. Seven types of operating elements are offered, including triangular spindle, 7 mm square spindle, 8 mm square spindle, double bit spindle, knurled knob, wing knob, and lever. The latter three types have handles of plastic (Polyamide PA), matte black, with matte light gray cover cap. Each type is offered in 22 sizes to cover latch spacings (retaining zones) of between 17 and 63 mm.

Metric Bearing Lock Nuts and Lock Washers

J.W. Winco, Inc.'s line of joint and accompanying components includes an extensive line of bearing lock nuts and lock washers in metric sizes.

These components are used to secure bearings onto a shaft. Lock nuts are of low carbon steel, plain finish. They are available in threads from M10 x .75 to M50 x 1.5, and outer diameters of 18 to 70 mm. Toothed lock washers are of spring steel, with plain finish, and fit the assortment of lock nut sizes. Additional sizes are available upon request. J.W. Winco also offers appropriate hook spanner wrenches for use with these components.

GN 817.4 Indexing Plungers with T-Handle

Today we're introducing you to our series GN 817.4 Steel or Stainless Steel Indexing Plungers with T-Handle, with and without Rest Position, available in metric sizes.

Steel Version
These RoHS-compliant plungers are similar in design to GN 817, but have a T-handle instead of a round knob. This shape is advantageous when greater unlocking forces occur. It also allows better visual orientation of the indexing position of the Type C version (version with rest position). Type C GN 817.4 indexing plungers are used in applications where the plunger must not protrude continually. In that case the knob is retracted and afterwards turned by 90°. A notch keeps the plunger in this position.

Stainless Steel Version
In the steel version, body and plunger pin are steel with black oxide finish. In the stainless steel version, body and plunger pin are European Standard No. 1.4305 stainless steel (American Standard Series 303), with the plunger pin also chemically nickel-plated. The T-handle is technopolymer plastic (Polyamid PA), and is not removable. Lock nut is steel or stainless steel, ISO 8675 (DIN 439).

DIY Camera Slider: WN 300 Levers as Adjustable Legs

We love hearing about the creative uses DIY-ers develop for our machine components, so we really enjoyed finding this video. It demonstrates how camera buffs can build a sliding camera mount using WN 300 Nylon Plastic Adjustable Levers for legs. This slider can be used for low-angle dolly shots, as you see in the video.

You start by using a bracket (like the IGUS brand's) to mount the camera on rail. The adjustable levers have studs that mount easily to the rail, forming legs that can be adjusted for height. Nifty!

GN 853 and 853-NI Latch-Type Toggle Clamps

We're here today to introduce our new series GN 853 (steel) and GN 853-NI (stainless steel) Latch-Type Toggle Clamps with Locking Mechanism, in metric sizes.

These RoHS-compliant latch clamps feature a locking mechanism which prevents the inadvertent or vibration-induced opening of the clamp. Another benefit of this design is the ability to operate the clamp with one hand. Two versions are offered: one without a tie-rod or latch bracket, allowing the easy and individual configuration of the locking mechanism, and one with a tie-rod and latch bracket.

The base, clamping lever and catch of the steel version are sheet metal, toughened steel C10 (European Standard No. 1.0301), while the tie-rod is steel St. 32, blackened. In the stainless steel version, the base, clamping lever, catch and tie-rod are European Standard No. 1.4301 (American Standard Series 304) stainless steel. The handle sleeve is oil-resistant red solid molded plastic. All moving parts are lubricated with special grease.

GN 612.8 Cam Action Indexing Plungers

Here's the word on the latest featured new product from J.W. Winco:  GN 612.8 Cam Action Indexing Plungers in metric sizes.

These zinc die-cast indexing plungers are economically priced, and feature a special ZNDG-Pass nano® coating that offers excellent corrosion resistance. They are RoHS compliant. The lever arm is technopolymer plastic (Polyamid PA), matte black, not removable, and the plunger pin is zinc plated, blue passivated steel.

GN 618.2 cam action indexing plungers are used in applications when the pin must not always protrude. By rotating the lever arm through 180° the locking pin withdraws itself. The notch allows safe positioning.

GN 366 Oval Handles

We continue to increase our product offering, so let me introduce latest featured new product:  series GN 366 Oval Handles in metric sizes.

Unique to the design of these RoHS-compliant handles is that the tube and the handle legs have the same elliptical profile.

The tubing is aluminum, available either in plastic coated black textured finish or natural anodized finish. The handle legs and cover caps are fiberglass reinforced technopolymer plastic (Polyamide PA), matte black or matte light gray. The tapped insert is zinc-plated steel.

GN 7336.7 and GN 7336.8 Clamping Knobs with Indexing Plunger

Today we're presenting our new series GN 7336.7 Clamping Knobs with Indexing Plunger, as well as GN 7366.8, a version with safety function.

These RoHS-compliant knobs are used for positioning, securing and clamping adjusting elements simultaneously. The axial movement of the handle (pulling) pulls the indexing plunger from the engaged position against the spring force, with the knob meanwhile remaining connected with form-lock to the clamping screw via a hexagonal element. This design permits both clamping and releasing. The design of the GN 7336.8 ensures that the indexing plunger cannot be pulled from the indexing bore by turning the knurled knob, but only by deliberately pulling the handle (safety function).

The body of the knurled knob is glass fiber reinforced plastic with a black matte finish. The threaded body is zinc plated, blue passivated steel. The cover cap is glass fiber reinforced plastic with a light gray matte finish. The plunger pin is nitrided and blackened steel. These clamping knobs are offered in a range of metric sizes.

GN 506 T-Nuts with Guide Step

Today we're introducing to you our new series GN 506 T-Nuts with Guide Step, available in metric sizes.

These T-nuts can be turned into position, i.e., they can be inserted at any point along a slot. The spring loaded ball prevents unwanted movement of the nut in the slot, which is highly desirable with the T-slots in a vertical position. For example, GN 506 T-nuts can be used to fit hinges to commercially available T-slot extrusion rails.

These RoHS compliant T-nuts are made from zinc plated, blue passivated C 45K steel. They are offered in threads from M3 to M8, to accommodate slot widths of 5 or 8 mm.

GN 704 Quick Release Set Collars

We at J.W. Winco, Inc have introduced another innovative product to our line: GN 704 Quick Release Set Collars.

Parts that need to be secured on stationary or rotating shafts can be easily adjusted with these set collars. Unlike thrust bolts or clamping screws, they generate locking force on the shaft via a cam lever. This quick release design allows the collars to be set or adjusted rapidly and without tools, and the aluminum design results in low mass inertia values.

These RoHS compliant set collars feature a body of black anodized aluminum, and a lever of yellow anodized aluminum. They are available in both inch and metric sizes for a variety of shaft diameters. The slim profile allows for optimal use of space on the shaft.

DIN 582-NI Stainless Steel Lifting Eyes

We continue to offer more innovative products in our online catalog, including this one: our DIN 582-NI Stainless Steel Lifting Eyes. These high quality lifting eyes have a tapped thru hole and are metric sized and RoHS compliant. They are manufactured with the contact face machined to allow for firm contact with the mating surface. The stainless steel material and one piece design makes these components suitable for use in food, medical or other clean room applications.

A range of six metric sizes is offered, with tapped threads from M8 to M24. Maximum loads for one bolt range from 1350 to 17,600 N, and with two bolts jointly from 950 to 12,600 N. GN 809 Steel Clamp Mounts for Toggle Clamps

I'm here today to introduce another new series of products in our ever-expanding line. We now offer series GN 809 Steel Clamp Mounts for Toggle Clamps. These metric sized, RoHS-compliant clamp mounts were designed for use with toggle clamps that have a solid clamping arm.

The clamp mount can be moved along the clamping arm and be adjusted in height. Once the desired position is reached, you can secure the mount in place with the clamping screw. The clamp mount, when installed, functions to hold pressure screws, pressure dies, and similar devices. It is fabricated of zinc plated steel with a blue passivated finish and is offered in five sizes to function with a variety of toggle clamps.

GN 441 and 442 Threaded Plugs

Today we're showcasing our new series GN 441 and GN 442 Threaded Plugs with Finger Grip. These RoHS-compliant plugs are available with NBR seal (GN 441) or VITON® seal (GN 442).

The threaded plugs have an external diameter matching the screw-in holes for DIN 3852 pipe bolt connections. The seal is embedded in a radial recess on the plane side, which makes the seal captive, so it cannot be squeezed out during tightening. The seal is also relatively soft, enhancing the sealing effect even on uneven surfaces. The finger grip allows for easy turning.

GN 442
Plug bodies are made of aluminum, with either a tumbled matte finish or black plastic coated finish, and are available with or without vent hole. The two seal options are NBR synthetic rubber (Perbunan) and VITON® (FPM). A range of sizes are offered with metric or BSPP parallel threads. Threaded plugs with dipstick are available upon request.

GN 771.1 Locating Pins

Another great new product recently added to our line is series GN 771.1 Locating Pins in metric sizes. These RoHS compliant components are normally used in conjunction with DIN 172 / DIN 179 drill bushings.

The tolerance of the pin diameter insures a perfect press fit into an H7 tolerance mounting bore, while the chamfer of the pin makes installation easy. The pins are made of steel, hardened to HRC 60 +/-2 and ground. Diameters run from 4 to 16 mm.

GN 6341 Steel and Stainless Steel Washers

Today we're here to introduce you to our new GN 6341 (steel) and GN 6341-NI (stainless steel) washers in metric sizes.

These washers are used mainly in mechanical machine and jig construction when DIN 125, DIN 9021 and DIN 6340 washers do not meet the requirements of the application. GN 6341 washers are offered in two versions of turned steel: blackened finish, or zinc plated and blue passivated. GN 6341-NI washers are stainless steel with a matte shot-blast finish.

These RoHS compliant components are available in two types: with cylindrical bore or with bore for countersunk screw. Many diameters from 10 to 40 mm are included in the range, with bores from 4 to 12 mm.

GN 337 and GN 337-NI Lift-Off Hinges with Countersunk Thru Holes

Greetings, here today to share with you our new GN 337 (zinc die-cast) and GN 337-NI (stainless steel) Lift-Off Hinges with Countersunk Thru Holes, developed for easy detachment.

These RoHS compliant hinges were designed so the two sides of the hinge can be easily detached from one another for quick removal of doors or panels. They are offered in styles with the fixed hinge pin on the right or on the left.

The zinc die-cast version is available with a black powder coated textured finish, or silver powder coated textured finish. The stainless steel version has a matte shot-blasted finish. Both types have hinge pins of stainless steel, and the hinges are available in three sizes from 40 to 60 mm. Various metric and inch size fasteners and kit packaging are available upon request.

GN 607.4 and 607.5 Indexing Plungers for Welding

Today we're introducing our new GN 607.4 and 607.5 Indexing Plungers for Welding, with or without Rest Position. These metric sized, RoHS compliant indexing plungers are especially designed for welded mounting, particularly for use with steel square tubing.

The body is blackened steel, plunger hardened, and features a shoulder for easy positioning. The knob is matte black technopolymer plastic (Polyamide PA), not removable. The knob has a molded-in indexing pin and is supplied separately, to be driven in with a soft mallet after welding.

GN 607.5
The GN 607.4 series does not have a rest position, while the GN 607.5 series does. The rest position feature is used in applications where the indexing pin is temporarily not allowed to protrude. After pulling out, the knob is turned by 90° to its rest position and the pin no longer protrudes. An indexing notch prevents the disengaged knob from turning back accidentally or from shock impact.

GN 702 Stop Locks with 4 Indexing Positions

We are especially excited to introduce our new and innovative GN 702 Zinc Die-Cast Stop Locks with four indexing positions. These metric sized, RoHS-compliant stop locks offer a fast and easy way to close and hold doors, flaps, slide-in models, etc. by locking in four 90° positions.

Three versions are offered: with flange for surface mounting, with female thread, and with male thread. The latch on the stop locks is zinc die-cast, with black or red electrostatically applied powder coat textured finish. The indexing mechanism for the flanged and female threaded types is steel/plastic, steel parts zinc plated, blue passivated; for the male threaded type it is zinc die cast/plastic. The fastening flange is zinc die-cast with electrostatically applied powder coat in black textured finish.

In standard production, the mounting bore holes are usually made by punching or with a laser.

GN 123 sheet metal punch is recommended for small series and sheet metal with a thickness less than 2 mm. Mounting bore holes can also be made by drilling or milling.

GN 331 and 332 Tubular Handles with Power Switching Function

Today's featured new products are our series GN 331 and 332 Tubular Handles with Power Function, available in metric sizes. These RoHS-compliant tubular handles are designed for unlocking safety tumblers in sliding or rotating doors.

Switches, pushbuttons and LEDs that are normally installed in external operating panels, are here integrated in an attractively shaped tubular handle. The same hand that unlocks the tumbler by pushing the release button with the thumb, can be used to open the door. Versions are offered with one or two buttons and with or without emergency stop. By integrating functions such as emergency stop, start, release, reset and LED status display, this handle allows the machine to be monitored and operated directly at the door or gate. GN 331 handles save mounting and installation work, and are attractively and ergonomically designed--switching and operating functions are located precisely where they are needed.

GN 331 series handles have straight shanks, and GN 332 handles are angled. The handle tubing is aluminum and either textured matte black plastic powder-coated finish or natural color anodized. The handle shanks are zinc die cast with textured matte black plastic powder-coated finish. A set with caps in red, green and blue is supplied for every push button. Couplings for plug connectors (GN 331.1) with the appropriate cables are available for tubular handles with electrical switching function.

GN 418 Cam Point Screws and GN 418.1 Cam Point Levers

Today we're introducing to you our GN 418 Cam Point Screws and GN 418.1 Cam Point Levers in metric sizes. These RoHS compliant components are maintenance-free clamping elements designed for a wide variety of different uses and applications, including clamping flat or round workpieces, centric clamping in bore holes, and multiple clamping in tight spaces. They are stable, compact, and easy to use.

The mode of function is identical for both: The screw head of the cam point screw is fitted with two cams: a radial clamping cam (with additional 30° chamfer) and an axial draw-down cam. The self-locking cam ensures that the clamping force is of the same magnitude in every angular position. The force components acting at the clamping point generate friction and a draw-down effect which presses the workpiece against a fixed-end stop. The thread and the 30° chamfer (if fitted) generate an additional draw-down effect.

Cam point screws are fitted with a hexagon head socket. The steel is case-hardened, zinc-plated and blue passivated. Cam point levers have a handle (with black plastic ball knob) connected to the cam point screw with a serration, allowing the suitable clamping position to be selected and the lever to be adjusted. Both the screw and the cam are case-hardened and burnished. Both right-hand and left-hand thread types are available.
