EN 237.1 Plastic Hinges

Today we present our new EN 237.1 Plastic Hinges, in metric sizes.

These RoHS-compliant low profile plastic hinges are offered with five different mounting options: 2x2 bores for countersunk screws, 2x2 bores for socket head cap screws, 2x2 threaded bolts, 2x bore for countersunk screws / 2x threaded bolts, and 2x bore for socket head cap screws / 2x threaded bolts.

Hinge body is made of matte black glass fiber reinforced plastic (Polyamide PA). Hinge pin is stainless steel. Threaded studs are made of nickel-plated steel. Various metric and inch size fasteners and kit packaging are available upon request.

GN 452.1 and 452.2 Inch Size, Vibration / Shock Absorption Mounts

Today we're introducing you to our new GN 452.1 and 452.2 Inch Size, Vibration / Shock Absorption Mounts, Cylindrical Type, with Stainless Steel Components, in inch sizes.

These RoHS-compliant mounts, also known as vibration isolation mounts, anti-vibration mounts, vibration bobbins or rubber bumpers, are used as end-stop bumpers, e.g., for conveyor trolleys. They absorb most of the accumulated kinetic energy on impact. They act as dampers and prevent damaging shock and rebound. They also act as sound dampers, and can also be used as leveling feet.

GN 452.1 mounts have a threaded stud, and GN 452.2 versions have a tapped hole. The mount body is made of natural rubber (NR), vulcanized, 55 durometer (shore hardness +/-5°). Cover plate is stainless steel. Tapped inserts and threaded studs are stainless steel, molded in. Mount body diameters range from 1 to 2 inches.

GN 139.1 Hinges with Electrical Switching Function

We're happy to present to you today our series GN 139.1 Hinges with Electrical Switching Function, with Safety Switch, available in metric sizes.

These RoHS-compliant hinges have been designed for use on monitoring doors and covers of machines and equipment. Opening the door activates the switch contacts. This causes an interruption in a protective circuit via broken contact (NC) and at the same time signals the door opening by closing a normally open contact element (NO).

The contact blocks are fitted with positive opening slow-action contacts, i.e. they will definitely be separated when activated and have no hysteresis. The angle at which the switching points are reached is adjustable. Together with the integrated contact blocks, the hinges are a compact, easy-to-mount unit with an attractive design. The mounting from the back makes the hinge particularly tamper-proof.

Hinge body is zinc die-cast, with silver metallic powder coated finish. Hinge pin is stainless steel. Offered in types with connector plug on top, bottom, or on back with 200 mm cable. All types are available with narrow hinge wing or broad hinge wing.

GN 753 Guide Rollers

Today we're presenting our new GN 753 Guide Rollers, available in metric sizes.

These RoHS-complaint guide rollers are suitable for moving or guiding smaller loads. They are commonly used in drive engineering. Four styles are available for use in a variety of applications: cylindrical, convex, concave and V-groove shaped. All styles are offered with bore or with threaded stud.

The outer ring of the guide roller is made of plastic (Polyacetal POM). The inner ring and balls are made of steel. The threaded stud is made of zinc plated steel. Guide roller diameters range from 19 to 26 mm.

We recently added to our product line WN 717.10 Stainless Steel Stubby Hand Retractable Spring Plungers, in inch sizes.

These RoHS-compliant spring plungers are non lock-out type and feature a pull ring. Their small dimensions make them ideal for use in applications with limited space. The plunger body, pin, spring and pull ring are all made of stainless steel.They are offered in sizes from ¼-20 to 5/8-11.

GN 340.1 Steel Base Leveling Mounts with Lag Bolt Lug

Today we'd like to introduce our new series GN 340.1 Steel Base Leveling Mounts with Lag Bolt Lug, available in inch and metric sizes.

These RoHS-compliant leveling mounts have a base and lug of steel sheet metal, with zinc plated and blue passivated finish. The threaded stud and ISO 4032 hex nut are also zinc plated and blue passivated steel. The hex nut is a standard part of the assembly. The rubber pad inlay is black Nitrile Butadiene rubber, 85-90° Shore A hardness. The inlay is firmly embedded in the sheet metal base and secured by a screw loctited into place.

The threaded stud can be either adjusted via the internal hexagon at the top or the wrench flats at the lower end. The fixing lug anchored in the rubber inlay allows the leveling mount to be bolted to the floor.

New Line of Oil Drain Valves Offers Safety and Cleanliness

We're excited to share with you about our new line of innovative oil drain valves, breathers and accessories with metric or BSPP parallel threads. These RoHS-compliant components provide for a no-mess oil system and safe container ventilation.

GN 880 Oil Drain Valves are available in zinc-plated steel or brass, with a plastic protective cap, brass valve plate, copper sealing disk, and Viton® rubber O-ring. These valves may be used for draining non-pressurized oil, and under certain conditions, also for vacuum drainage. Advantages of these valves are easy and safe handling, optimized flow rate, high pressure resistance (up to 100 bar), high temperature resistance (-22° F to 320° F / -30° C to +160° C), 100% leak tightness, prevention of burns by hot oil, and no mess from uncontrolled oil drainage. Flow volume depends on the viscosity of the medium, filling quantity and temperature; guidance values are available upon request.

GN 880.1 Connector Pieces are screwed onto GN 880 oil drain valves, activating the valve plate of the oil drain valve so oil will flow into a pan. The hose plug prevents the remaining oil from dripping out after discharging. The connector pieces are offered with or without drain hoses, in versions with straight, 45° or 90° connectors.

GN 881 Breather Valves are made of brass with plastic breather cap, silicone rubber-coated brass gasket, stainless steel spring and soft iron seal. Once a predetermined opening pressure level is exceeded, breather valves will vent into a container, preventing excessive internal container pressure. In its normal state, the gasket seals the container and prevents dirt and dust from getting inside of it.

Alternate series GN 883 Breather Valves feature very compact dimensions. The simple function principle (stainless steel pressure spring / ball) ensures long and trouble-free use of the valve. The installation position is vertical to the top. Two types are offered: short style without cap and tall style with plastic breather cap.

GN 882 Breather Filters, made of brass with a plastic breather cap and soft iron seal, are used when air exchange is to be allowed between the inside of the container and the ambient air. The stainless steel wire mesh filter prevents airborne particles like dust from being carried from the outside to the inside of the container. It also ensures that oil (or other fluid) particles do not escape to the outside.

These RoHS-compliant handles are attractive in design and highly stable. Handle tube is aluminum with either a black powder-coated textured finish or matte natural anodized finish. Handle legs are zinc die-cast, with a black powder coated finish, or silver powder-coated finish. The tube and legs are secured together with self-tapping screws. GN 300.5 Tapped Type All Stainless Steel Adjustable Levers with Stainless Steel Components

Today we're introducing you to our new GN 300.5 Tapped Type All Stainless Steel Adjustable Levers with Stainless Steel Components, available in inch and metric sizes.

These RoHS-complaint hand levers are the result of modern industrial design, and are ideal wherever parts have to be clamped in a confined space or in a particular lever position. The handle is stainless steel with sand blasted satin finish. Insert, screw and spring are also stainless steel. All stainless steel construction makes this lever appropriate for applications in the food processing, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

Levers are offered in Type IS, screw with internal hexagon, and Type AS, screw with external hexagon. The AS type complies with the sanitary requirement of “preventing dammed-up fluid.”

GN 343.1 Tapped Type Steel Base Leveling Mounts

Recently we added to our product line the new series GN 343.1 Tapped Type Steel Base Leveling Mounts with or without Plastic or Rubber Base Cap, in metric sizes.

These RoHS-compliant leveling mounts can bear high static loads, but for high loads, they should be used in conjunction with screws of high tensile strength. Base and tapped socket are zinc plated, blue passivated steel. Hex nut is zinc plated, blue passivated steel, ISO 4032.

The mounts are available without base cap, with white technopolymer plastic (DELRIN®) base cap, with electrically conductive plastic base cap, with black thermoplastic TPE rubber base cap, or with electrically conductive rubber base cap.

GN 631.5 Stainless Steel Thrust Pads

Today we're introducing you to our new GN 631.5 Stainless Steel Thrust Pads, in metric sizes.

These RoHS-compliant thrust pads, when used with GN 632.5 grub screws, are a low cost solution for clamping operations or for load bearing purposes. The resulting assembly leans to accommodate uneven surfaces. It is easy to press the ball point of the grub screw into the thrust pad by hand.

Thrust pads are made of stainless steel, European standard No. 1.4305 (American standard 303). They have O-rings of FPM Rubber (Viton®). Pad diameters range from 21 to 40 mm.

GN 430.1 Ledge Handles with Lettering Block

New to our product line are GN 430.1 Ledge Handles with Lettering Block, available in metric sizes. Typical applications for these RoHS-compliant ledge handles include swivel or sliding doors on protective doors and equipment. They are also suitable for use as drawer handles.

Mounting is accomplished by means of a screw channel where multiple screws can be fastened to secure the handle. The screw channel for screw size M6 (extruded aluminum) allows an optimal number of fixing screws in any position within the dimensions l2. A minimum screw-in depth of 10 mm must be maintained.

Handle is aluminum, natural color anodized finish or plastic coated in black textured finish. End caps are technopolymer plastic (Polyamide PA), dark gray. When delivered, the end cap is mounted on one side so that the supplied paper/film strip can be lettered and pushed into the provided groove of the handle. The lettering block is manufactured of a bright white, age-resistant paper strip and transparent PVH hard film. Available upon request: aluminum profile sections in any length, individual end caps, single paper/film strips.

GN 313 Spring Bolts

Today we'd like to update you on our new series GN 313 Spring Bolts, available in metric sizes. Versions with or without pull knob are available, as well as with or without internal thread in the plunger pin. 

The plunger pin in these RoHS-complaint spring bolts does not protrude in the inoperative position. It can be operated manually via the Push / Pull Knob, or in the case of the types without push / pull knob, it can be operated mechanically (via a pneumatic cylinder, cam plate, etc.), where the plunger pin will protrude only as long as it is in the operation mode. 

An application example for the types with internal threads would be using the internal thread on the pressure side, for operation of special pressure bolts or a rod arrangement. 

The threaded body of the plunger is steel, with black oxide finish. Plunger pin is stainless steel, European Standard No. 1.4305 (American Standard Series 303), chemically nickel plated. Knob is matte black plastic (Polyamide PA), not removable. Lock nut is steel, black oxide finish, DIN 439/ISO 4035.

New Oil Drain Valves and Accessories

We just added five new series of products to our Fluid Level Indicators and Components line, designed to offer a cleaner way of draining oil, and the safe ventilation of containers.

Our GN 880 Oil Drain Valves replace conventional drain plugs in oil pans of vehicles or machines, and speed up draining of used oil while making the job neater and cleaner. Matching GN 880.1 Connector Pieces ensure the controlled draining used fluids. Bolted to the oil drain valve with a nut, the connector allows the oil to flow straight into the collecting pan without polluting the environment. Connectors are available straight or with 45 degree or 90 degree elbows, and without or with hoses of various lengths.

GN 881 Breather Valves automatically open inside an oil tank at a pressure above 200 mbar, and so avoid problematic excess pressure from building up. The same function is provided by the simpler but equally reliable GN 883 Breather Valve with its pressure spring and ball combination.
GN 882 Filters operate in both directions, allowing a defined volume of air into and out of the container. The integrated stainless steel wire mesh prevents dirt particles from penetrating the tank from the outside, while stopping oil particles from escaping from the container.

GN 6322 Workholding Pins

We're happy to introduce to you our new GN 6322 Workholding Pins, available in metric sizes.

These RoHS-compliant pins are inserted into bores for positioning, with the ball-type shoulder facilitating the insertion into the bore. The pins are tempered, hardened steel. Diameters range from 10 to 25 mm.

Type B is cylindrical in shape, while Type C has flattened sides on the pin. The flattened design of Type C provides tolerance for the spacing of the two bores. Another application of this design is to fix parts to be positioned in one direction only.

EN 628.4 Cabinet U-Handles with Power Switching Function

Today we're introducing our EN 628.4 Cabinet U-Handles with Power Switching Function, available in metric sizes.

These RoHS compliant U-handles feature a push button which allows two switching positions. The status is displayed by two LEDs, red or green. The red LED will be lit during normal function. Pressing the push button (i.e., changing the switching position) triggers a control pulse which activates certain door functions, e.g., switching off devices or appliances. The LED color then changes to green.

The elegant design of these cabinet U-handles is also ergonomic, due to the arched shape of the handle and its rounded cross-section. The handle is technopolymer plastic (Polyamide PA) with a dark gray matte finish. Cover cap is plastic with black matte finish. J.W. Winco also offers GN 330 connecting cables to accompany the handles; two versions allow for the cable to be connection either on the bottom or side of the handle.

GN 113.8 Heavy Duty Ball Lock Pins with Plastic T-Handle

Recently added to our product line are GN 113.8 Heavy Duty Ball Lock Pins with Plastic T-Handle, offered in metric sizes.

These RoHS compliant ball lock pins are used for rapid connecting and securing of components or work pieces. Since the pin is fabricated of heavy duty, hardened and highly abrasion-resistant stainless steel, they have an extreme load capacity. A typical application is locating pins which have to be regularly moved in and out of position. By depressing the spring-loaded push button, the two balls are freed, and by releasing the push button the balls are locked.

The T-handle is black plastic (Polyamide PA), and the pin, balls and spring are all stainless steel. To avoid loss or misplacement of these ball lock pins, J.W. Winco also offers GN 111 split rings with various lengths of chain, and GN 111.2 retaining cables.

GN 6321.1 Seating Pins

We'd like to introduce you to our new series GN 6321.1 Seating Pins, in metric sizes.

These seating pins are RoHS compliant and fabricated of tempered, hardened steel. In addition to their use in positioning the parts of a jig assembly, they can also be used as simple feet. Pin heads range from 6 to 40 mm in diameter, and pin lengths range from 6.5 to 20 mm.

GN 6336.10 Hand Knobs with Stainless Steel Studs

We've added another new series of knobs to our product line: GN 6336.10 Hand Knobs with 316 Stainless Steel Studs, with Nylon Plastic or Brass Tip, available in metric sizes.

These RoHS complaint components are designed to function well when corrosion is to be avoided, such as in medical, food, and cleanroom applications. The knob is matte black, glass filled nylon plastic, and the threaded stud is European standard 1.4567 (American standard 316 series) stainless steel, molded-in. The stud features either a brass or plastic (Polyacetal POM) tip, which prevents indentations or other damage from occurring. Knob diameters from 25 to 50 mm are offered, with studs ranging from M5 to M10 threads and lengths 10 to 55 mm.

EN 239.1 and EN 239.2 Hinges with Integrated Safety Switch

Today we're sharing with you another new series of innovative products from J.W. Winco: EN 239.1 and EN 239.2 Hinges with Integrated Safety Switch, available in metric sizes.

These RoHS-compliant hinges were designed for accident prevention; the safety circuit is disrupted as soon as the door is opened. The switch is a tamper-proof, forced-opening safety switch. The function of the switch cannot be altered, because the casing is integrated and “ultra-welded” to the hinge. Hinge and switch form a single component, making installation easy, rapid and safe.

Hinges are technopolymer plastic (Polyamide PA) with a black matte finish. The hinge pin is stainless steel, European Standard No. 1.4305 (American Standard Series 303). Hinges are available with the switch on the right side (EN 239.1) or left (EN 239.2). Two types are offered for each: with countersunk screw holes (for use with DIN 7991 countersunk head screws), or with slotted holes (for use with DIN 6912 cylindrical head screws).

These hinges can also be used with aluminum profile connections. UL-approved GN 330 connecting cables are available to use in connection with the hinges.

Espresso Aid to Another Continent

When a gentleman from Buenos Aires needed to replace the lever handle on his ~50-year-old Pavoni Shirley espresso machine, he ran into problems. He had been told of a big-name U.S. supplier who carried the part, but they were unwilling to ship it abroad.

Happily, this Argentine java fan discovered J.W. Winco.

As the gentleman reported on an espresso forum, Home-Barista.com, "After some searching on the web, I came across a company called J.W. Winco Inc. that happened to have the handles I needed...and at a much more reasonable price. ISO 7379 Hardened Steel Shoulder Screws

Today we're introducing our new ISO 7379 Hardened Steel Shoulder Screws, available in metric sizes.

These RoHS compliant shoulder screws are cost-saving construction components for a wide variety of different uses. They are made of blackened steel with a tensile strength of 1200 N/mm2 (strength class 12.9). Shoulder dimension is ground. Shoulder screws are offered in a range of head sizes from 6 to 24 mm diameter, threads from M5 to M20, and shoulder lengths from 10 to 100 mm.

GN 111.2 Stainless Steel Retaining Cables

Our parade of new product introductions continues with our GN 111.2 Stainless Steel Retaining Cables, available in metric sizes.

These cables are RoHS compliant, and mainly used in connection with ball lock pins and pins with axial lock. They are offered with two key rings, mounting loop and key ring, or two mounting loops. The cables are stainless steel, European Standard No. 1.4310 (American Standard Series 301), and coated with clear plastic (PVC). Mounting loops and key rings are also of stainless steel, European Standard No. 1.4310 (American Standard Series 301). Key rings are supplied unmounted.

The cables are available in lengths from 150 to 500 mm, and with key ring diameters from 14 to 30 mm. Static load limits for the cables alone are 1,800 N, which reduces to 50-120 N with key ring added.

GN 119-NI Door Locks in Stainless Steel

Today we'd like to introduce another of our new products: GN 119-NI Door Locks in Stainless Steel, in metric sizes.

These RoHS compliant door locks have a drawing range of 10 mm. Locking is achieved by turning the door lock clockwise. The operating spindle is fitted with an O-ring to prevent the penetration of water. Four types are offered: with star knob, with triangular spindle, with square spindle and with double bit spindle. Zinc plated steel keys for the three spindle versions may be ordered as well.

The lock housing, spindle and spacer are stainless steel, European Standard 1.4305 (American Standard 303). The star knob for the knob version is stainless steel, shot-blasted finish, European standard No. 1.4301 (American standard 304 series). The cam is stainless steel, European Standard 1.4306 (American Standard 304). Each type of door lock is available in ten different clamping ranges, from 17 to 65 mm.

The crank handle and body are matte black, glass filled nylon plastic with a zinc-plated steel molded-in hub. The revolving handle is black phenolic plastic with zinc-plated steel spindle. The retracting mechanism is zinc-plated steel, with a .375 inch bore. These hand cranks are RoHS compliant.

GN 506 T-Nuts with Spring Washer

We'd like to introduce to you another of our new products: GN 506.2 T-Nuts with Spring Washer, available in metric sizes.

GN 506.2 T-nuts are designed for use with aluminum extrusions. They can be slid into position, i.e., inserted at any point along the slot. The spring washer prevents an unwanted movement of the nut in the slot, which is highly desirable on a bed with the T-slots in a vertical position. The unique feature of this design is that different slot heights can be bridged. One possible use of these T-nuts is to fit hinges to commercially available extrusion rails.

These RoHS compliant T-nuts are made of C45K, zinc plated, blue passivated steel. The spring washers are stainless steel, European Standard No. 1.4310 (American Standard Series 301).

GN 333.8 Angled Handle Support Legs and GN 333.9 Straight Handle Support Legs

We'd like to introduce you to two more new series of products we offer:  GN 333.8 Angled Handle Support Legs and GN 333.9 Straight Handle Support Legs. These components are used to convert tubing to handles.

These RoHS compliant legs are typically used with GN 333 or GN 333.1 Tubular Handles, and are available in metric sizes. They provide rigidity to handles with longer tube lengths.

We offer these die-cast zinc support legs in black powder coated finish or silver powder coated finish. The legs secure to a handle tube with self-tapping screws mounted from the bottom, utilizing a blind tapped hole.

The legs are highly stable in relation to their small dimensions. Typical use is on double winged swinging doors and sliding doors on machines.
